Come one come all... All club members are invited to join us on the days we gather on the common at Fort Beggs.
Join us as we return to an earlier time, when people would come together on training days to practice for the Militia, for the common defense of country, home and family. Those days when the highlight of a social gathering was the shooting match. All the early periods are welcomed from the days of the long hunters, like Daniel Boone, Simon Kenton and David Crockett through the mountain man and free trapper era of Jim Bridger, Kit Carson, Beckworth or Liver-eating Johnson. Up to and including days in Rural America when Alvin York would win the beef shoot with his old muzzle loader. We use traditional muzzle loaders from matchlock to percussion cap. No in-lines please. Firearms, original or modern-made must be in good safe working order. Hearing and eye protection are required. Extra firearms and extra hearing and eye protection will be available, though limited in quantity. We will also have a pistol shoot with cap and ball revolvers or single shot pistol. For more information, contact Ralph McBride, or check out the club calendar for shoot times and dates. Your Obedient Servant, Ralph McBride |
